Jim Earnest will give a one-hour power point presentation on Great Ornamental and Shade Trees for Kansas City. Many of these beautiful trees are planted here at the Arboretum. Some provide shade in the summer months, others present to us interesting foliage, flowers, fruit, bark and fall color. We will look at the tulip poplar, European little-leaf linden, Kentucky coffee tree, yellowwood, bur oak, and several others. These trees are special. Come join us for the presentation. You may want to find a place for one of them in your own yard. Jim is a volunteer at the arboretum, serves on the Education Committee, is a member of the Kansas Native Plant Society and is working to identify and label many of the trees at the arboretum.
